One in ten people suffer from diabetes in the United States. This disease can have devastating effects on the feet, with the possibility of eventual amputation.
Arthritis can impede the older population from enjoying active mobile lives. Our doctors are highly trained in both conservative and surgical treatment methods for arthritis. Using custom orthotics, AFFC has a high and proven rate in treating the arthritic foot, and reducing the need for future surgery. However, if surgery is deemed necessary, our doctors here at AFFC are exceptionally skilled in a variety of state-of-the-art surgical techniques.
A cringe-worthy, but common condition afflicting the foot is fungal nails. Not only unsighly, fungal nails can even pose risks for the diabetic patient, or for those with peripheral vascular disease. State-of-the-art treatments for fungal nails are available! A new device that provides UV treatment for shoes is also available, helping to decrease the rate of fungal re-infection.
